The company employs over 270 staff across two production and office sites at Moy and Moygashel in County Tyrone. Each site has benefited from multi-million-pound investment in recent years to facilitate the production of larger volumes of pet food. The investment is a result of increasing demand for our top selling brands including Naturo, Brandy, Cat Club and Private Label, from our wide range of retail and pet trade customers across the world.
The Role:
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering both scheduled and responsive maintenance tasks to support continuous factory operations and minimise production downtime.
Main Responsibilities:
- Carry out schedule-based maintenance work on equipment, buildings, services, repairs, overhauls, and installations as appropriate.
- Fault find electrical and/or mechanical faults and repair equipment in breakdown situation.
- Identify and carry out routine maintenance required by production schedule.
- Proactively identify and rectify potential equipment/services issues.
- Provide cover for holidays and absences when required.
- Ensure procedures are followed to meet Standard and Accreditation requirements.
- To contribute to implementing new working methods and actively participate in continuous improvement.
- Maintain housekeeping and cleaning standards to encourage the discipline in others
Essential Criteria:
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a maintenance role
- Electrical/Mechanical fault finding, maintenance and installation.
- Ability to read electrical drawings.
- Self-motivating with ability to work on own initiative.
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Team player, able to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Available to work flexible hours.
- Current driving licence and own vehicle
Desirable Criteria:
- Educated to HNC level.
- Food Processing/other regulated factory experience
- Experience in working with automated machinery.
- Ability to design and build an electrical panel.
- Previous experience with Servo-drive motors
- Familiar with various motor drives
- Basic knowledge of PLC programming
