Job Purpose: We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven National Account Manager to manage and grow our key accounts across Ireland. The successful candidate will be instrumental in maintaining strong relationships with existing direct accounts and driving new business development.
Reporting to: Head of Sales
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the Island of Ireland customer base, from grocery to wholesale to discount to independent customers, focusing on Mackle brands Brandy, Cat Club and Naturo.
- Manage and develop relationships with major Irish grocery and wholesale accounts including BWG, Hendersons, Musgraves, Tesco and Dunnes at head office level.
- Monitor and track market pricing and activity, competitor activity and customer insights to inform strategy.
- Develop and execute robust account plans, reviewing range, promotion and marketing opportunities, to achieve sales targets and business growth, profitably.
- Lead negotiations through inflationary periods and annual contract / terms agreements.
- Identify new business opportunities via new listing opportunities with existing customers, new customer acquisition, and new product / range opportunities to meet market demand.
- Prepare and present regular region performance reports vs annual sales budget and sales team KPIs.
- Support business planning by contributing to monthly forecasts and annual sales budgets.
- Collaborate with internal teams including marketing, supply chain, finance and product development to ensure customer satisfaction and operational excellence.
- Responsible for the performance and development of one account manager, specifically focused on Northern Ireland.
Job Specification
- Minimum of x2 A Levels or equivalent
- Degree in a business discipline is desirable
- Strong understanding of the Irish grocery landscape and wholesale channels.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in Key Account Management within the Irish grocery or wholesale cash & carry sector.
- 3–5 years’ prior experience in sales, ideally within FMCG or retail.
- Experience of MS Office software at intermediate level
- Proven track record of delivering sales growth and managing complex customer relationships.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and travel extensively across Ireland.
- Full clean driving licence.
- Required to work occasional weekends for exhibitions
