Mackle Petfoods Celebrates CAFRE Industry Support Programme Awards Ceremony
Mackle Petfoods was proud to attend the CAFRE Industry Support Programme Awards Ceremony, joining fellow industry partners, lecturers, students, and supporters to celebrate the rising talent within Northern Ireland’s agri‑food sector. The event highlights the vital collaboration between education and industry, and we’re delighted to continue playing an active role in supporting the next generation of food professionals.
Supporting Future Talent Through CAFRE’s Industry Programme
CAFRE’s Industry Support Programme is designed to help Higher Education students gain real‑world experience while providing businesses with meaningful opportunities to engage with, mentor, and develop future talent. The programme includes two key initiatives:
CAFRE Bursaries
- Open to all first‑year Higher Education students
- Provide £1,500 to help support study costs
- Offer industry partners valuable visibility among students
- Applications include an online form and optional video submission
- Providers are encouraged to assist with the selection process
This year marks Mackle Petfoods’ third year supporting the CAFRE Bursary within the food sector.
CAFRE Scholarships
- Open to all second‑year Higher Education students
- Include a structured work placement within the sponsoring business
- Provide £2,500 towards tuition fees
- Feature an in‑depth selection process involving a CV, video submission, shortlisting, and interview
- Encourage early engagement with students prior to deadlines
This is our second year supporting the CAFRE Scholarship, and we continue to be impressed by the high calibre, enthusiasm, and professionalism of the students involved.
