Going the Distance: Mackle Petfoods Raises £1,250 for AWARE NI

At Mackle Petfoods, we know that great things happen when people come together. Whether we’re creating quality pet food or supporting causes that matter, teamwork is at the heart of everything we do.

Last month, employees from our Moy and Moygashel sites joined forces for a 12-hour Spinathon in aid of our Charity of the Year, AWARE NI, raising an impressive £1,250 for a charity that plays a crucial role in supporting mental health and wellbeing across Northern Ireland. Mental health is something that affects individuals, families and communities, making this partnership particularly meaningful to our team. We are incredibly proud to support the charity and grateful to everyone who contributed to making the Spinathon such a success.

A Friendly Rivalry

The Spinathon saw an incredible 100 employees take to the bikes throughout the day, from early morning through to the final pedal strokes, staff from a variety of departments stepped up to take part, demonstrating the enthusiasm and community spirit that exists across the company.

We even added an extra layer of excitement to the event with head-to-head challenge between our Moy and Moygashel teams. Both sites competed to see who could cycle the greatest distance over the course of the day, with our Moy team claiming victory, finishing just 5km ahead.

More Than Fundraising

Events like our Spinathon are about more than raising money. They provide opportunities for colleagues to connect, support one another and step away from their day-to-day roles to work towards a shared goal.

From encouraging teammates during their cycling slots to helping organise the event and supporting from the sidelines, the day showcased the positive culture that exists within Mackle Petfoods.
